Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of ECG 2010 board it is our honour to welcome you at the Annual Meeting of
European College of Gerodontology which we host jointly with the 15th
Congress of Balkan Stomatological Society (BaSS), under the theme ‘Advancing
the Art and Science in Dentistry", at ‘I. Vellidis Centre' in Thessaloniki from
the 22nd to 25th of April 2010.
This important event for our College is coming
true this year with the valuable contribution and support of the Greek
delegation of BaSS being responsible for organization of the above Congress.
We are truly indebted to the President Prof
Lambrianides and all members of the Organizing and Scientific Committees and
dear colleagues from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki who have embraced
our effort to organize not only a traditional core program based on the
deep-rooted selfless contribution of ECG members and the precious response of
local colleagues but to achieve new fields for action such as to organize a
round table with the valuable contribution of outstanding speakers from all
over the world and a limited attendance post congress seminar.
More over this year we will be able to spread
the message by promoting an enriched multidisciplinary approach to the new
developing power, the elderly, with our colleagues and friends from the
Southeastern part of Europe, the Balkan countries, and within the 3 day
interaction we will have the opportunity to contact all those sharing an
interest in Gerodontology, foster and honour international cooperation on
research and welcome new members so as to provide a wider representative
European body.
With great pleasure we also announce the long
established GABA research award for this year as well, with the prize of 5000
CHF, which aims to foster and honour research in the field of Gerodontology.
Nominations are not restricted to old members or Europe.
New applications will be accepted from the Honorary Secretary Prof Frauke
Muller. All details about European
College of Gerodontology
and requirements for membership are under the ECG button kindly provided at the
present BaSS site.
We look forward to welcoming as many of you as
possible in Thessaloniki
as being not only an interesting tourist destination with long history but an
attractive cultural centre especially in spring time and actively participate
in all scientific and social events.
Kind regards
