Treatment of deep carious lesions

The traditional management of deep carious lesions dictates the removal of all infected dentin to prevent  further cariogenic activity and provide the mineralized base dentin for restoration . Several studies call this approach into question . For the practitioners the treatment of deep carious lesions  presents some difficulties when the procedure risks exposing the pulp because the course becomes less predictable .This lecture will discussed with clinical cases the diagnosis , treatment options and prognosis of the treatment of deep carious lesions by complete excavation or partial removal of infected dentin.

Curriculum Vitae

Asoc. Professor Rozarka Budina is graduated for Stomatology in 1977 in the Medical Faculty of University of Tirana. She is  employed in Tirana University ,Faculty of Medicine , Department of Stomatology  since 1990 .She is President of Albanian Stomatological Society and Director of Dental University Clinic in Tirana . She has over 35 years clinical experience and 20 years in teaching of restorative and endodontics fields .She has published over 20 articles in Scientific Dentistry Journals in Albania  and abroad . Rozarka Budina is the author of two textbooks in endodontics in her country .She has organized some post-university training courses and congresses in Albania.
